October saw us deliver the CBAA Conference and Community Radio Awards in Melbourne. It was a pleasure to bring together broadcasters, station managers and more across the country to meet and learn over two and half days. First Sounds is a special collaborative undertaking broadening the reach of Indigenous heritage, history and culture and supporting the burgeoning First Nations music industry.
Submit your song here for potential inclusion on the First Sounds CD compilation. The best 10 tracks will be selected by a panel of First Nations judges and the CD will be distributed by CBAA’s Amrap to 250 community radio stations across Australia. All entries will feature on the Amrap website and on the indigiTUBE platform.

Suicide Prevention Project

Welcome to the November 2019 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

Meet Amanda Copp, NRN Political Reporter

The CBAA are very pleased to formally announce the appointment of the new National Radio News (NRN) Political Reporter, Amanda Copp, who will be based in Parliament House, Canberra.
Amanda comes to us from SBS and was previously their Political Producer at Parliament House as well as working across several their platforms including NITV and Insight as a Producer. Also possessing print experience, Amanda worked for Fairfax Media in Queanbeyan and has worked across the ABC, the Canberra Times and originally cut her teeth as Producer and Presenter at 2SER on the Razor’s Edge.
